Stax Museum of American Soul Music

Memphis, Tennessee

Head to Memphis, Tennessee to see the Stax Museum of American Soul Music. This state-of-the-art facility, designed as a replica of the Stax recording studio, opened its doors in 2003. The museum focuses on all things soul, showcasing Stax Records and its powerhouse musicians like Otis Redding and Albert King as well as other soul music labels like Motown and Atlantic Records and artists like James Brown and Aretha Franklin, among other notable artists. The 17,000-square-foot facility has more than 2,000 videos and photos, memorabilia, and interactive exhibits.

SH Acoustics CEO Steve Haas lead the acoustic and audio-visual design of this special museum and has since returned to recalibrate the system periodically to ensure continued top-quality sound.
