SH Acoustics played a leading role in shaping the acoustic and audio experience throughout the new National Geographic Museum of Exploration in Washington, D.C. Our work centered on the Museum’s Auditorium and dramatic central Pavilion, where we led the acoustic and audio system design through final tuning and calibration, creating highly immersive environments for presentations, media, and live events.
SHA also provided specialized acoustic and audio consultation across numerous other areas of the Museum, including the permanent exhibits, 16th Street Lobby, Hotel, Plaza, and additional immersive spaces. Working closely with the Museum’s design, exhibit, media, and technical teams, we helped establish a cohesive sonic experience that supports National Geographic’s distinctive approach to storytelling, exploration, and discovery.
